You've seen this before. The thought strikes suddenly, during whatever it is you were doing. Having an important conversation? Running away from home? Dying in the midst of a fierce battle? Where ever you are, one things is true: you're certain this isn't the first time you've lived through this. But upon realizing this, that's when it happens. Like someone hitting rewind on the VCR, you're back where you were ten minutes ago. And it happens again. And again. And again--Until finally, something is different. A door stands in front of you. Will you go through it? Nothing else seems to be working, so this might be your only chance.

Upon opening the door and heading inside, a strange feeling overwhelms you. It's comforting and warm, like being enveloped in a soft, heavy blanket. You hear a voice murmuring in your ear, but it's unintelligible.
And in the next moment, you've appeared in front of a mysterious stone shrine in the middle of a forest, surrounded by the unfamiliar yet worried faces of fox-like humans in red and white robes, speaking in a foreign language that doesn't sound so foreign to you anymore.
Maryouku University

There isn't much time to process what's happening before characters are transported to the nearby Maryouku University. All injuries are completely healed, and those under mental duress will have a powerful soothing spell cast on them to calm them down. Their every need is met: food is offered, and questions are answered. "You've arrived in the Western Kingdom of Nippon, on a planet called Gaia," they explain. "When you became aware of the timeloop, we... well, let us explain."
Orientation Maryouku University, Kyoto
Everyone is brought to a large auditorium, where dozens of other people looking similarly out of place are seated around them. The Kitsune Yokai from before filter on stage, as well as a number of humans and other Yokai in labcoats. And after a brief introduction, they begin to explain. What they experienced back home was a timeloop. While the loops in their home worlds are smaller and likely to resolve on their own, the fact that such a small amount of time is being repeated is what makes them so dangerous for those who become aware of it. And they've been working around the clock, checking adjacent universes for others who've become aware. While the technical explanations may go over the heads of most, that's not the reason they were all brought together like this. "In order to bring you here, we used the very same magic responsible for freeing our world... Kizuna."
And they continue to explain: their own world was trapped in a year long loop for decades, if not longer. Through the use of an ancient form of bonding magic, they bound their world to the present flow of time, allowing it to progress past the timeloop. Or at least, that's how they thought it worked. In truth, Kizuna is very powerful reality-warping magic. And thanks to the powerful bond all refugees now share with the country of Nippon, the magic surrounding them will only continue to evolve.
Until a means of resuming the flow of time back in their home world is found, they'll just have to make due with this one. But not to worry, because Nippon is fully committed to taking care of the refugees!
A Brand New Home Kyoto, Kansai
Once orientation is over, characters will be allowed to choose housing in both Kyoto and Tokyo, enabling them the means of easily living between both cities if they please. These housing options will be fully paid for by the government of Nippon, with the NRL and MRU providing a stipend for food expenses in Tokyo and Kyoto respectively.
In lieu of providing transportation, all refugees will be granted an unlimited rail pass that they can use to travel all across Nippon, with express routes connecting the two kingdoms. Additionally, teleportation terminals exclusively for Refugees can be found at the NRL and MRU, allowing instant travel between Tokyo and Kyoto. While this TDM and its prompts are focused on the Western Kingdom, you are welcome to have your character arrive in the Eastern Kingdom instead.
In Higashiyama, a kimono shop is offering a special buy-one-get-one free event just in time for summer festival season! Although many of the kimono offered are rather plain, one variety sure to catch the eye is the enchanted kimono line, which contains a spell that will randomly produce a pattern that thematically suits whoever wears the kimono. While some of these patterns are simple, like a floral design for someone who runs a flower shop, others may find pivotal scenes of their past intricately woven into the fabric before their very eyes!
In Uji, a small festival is being held on MRU campus by the student council, who have specifically invited Refugees to attend. The reason? It's a culture festival, and their culture is the one on display! It seems the students have done their research, with individual booths containing information about a specific world's culture, a sample of food commonly eaten there (or the closest equivalent possible), and costumes inspired by the fashion worn by those from that world. While not always accurate, those feeling a little homesick may find some comfort in a familiar dish from home.
Those exploring Gion will notice signs posted around the area warning about a recent uptick of criminal activity. The perpetrators are unknown, but it is presumed they must be rather powerful, as many of the thefts have been carried out in broad daylight. Refugees in particular seem to be targets, and they'll find that their wallets, jewelry, weapons, or even completely worthless items will suddenly disappear right before their very eyes, as if blinking out of existence. Is someone really going to the effort to stop time just to pickpocket? In any case, the criminal remains at large, so refugees are cautioned against walking alone through Gion.
NRL Time Refugee Support Network
Once they've received their housing assignment, all refugees will be given small handheld devices called magi-tech comms, or magi-comms for short. They're heavier than a conventional smartphone would be, but far sturdier, and powered by the ambient magic that flows through the city. They don't need to be charged, but they won't work outside of cities at all. Upon booting it up, they'll find a message linking them to a special channel for refugees.
#nrl_time_refugee_support - online
Use the following code for your top-level if you'd like! This is how network communication will look for characters in the game until more advanced magi-tech comms become available for characters.
Crime and Entertainment

West of Kyoto sits the bustling city of Osaka, known for its unique sights and even more unique culture. From the glitzy streets of Dotonbori to the futuristic theme park of Shinsekai, there's no shortage of things to do and sights to see. And as one of the few cities in the West with a sizable population of Humans, Refugees may find that they don't stick out quite as much as they would in Kyoto.
But much like the East's Yokohama, Osaka has a darker side, and one that's not too difficult to stumble into. Powerful Yakuza families, each named for the four districts of Osaka, have long held control over the day to day affairs of the city. And while their approval ratings always tend to be a mixed bag, one thing's for sure: it's certainly never boring here.
Dirty Business Yodogawa, Osaka
The northeast district of Osaka is known as Yodogawa, and has always been a point of contention for city officials. Although a popular shopping district during the day, at night, those looking for entertainment generally wind up in Hommachi, the red light district. Bars, brothels, gambling dens, host clubs, love hotels and more can all be found after dark, many operating openly regardless of how legal their business practices may or may not be.
One such business seems intent on tapping into the profitable industry of employing Refugees, as locals have been known to pay higher prices just for the chance to meet one, and even higher for more. Known as Soapland, it's a host club that has both a bar and a public bath, seemingly to allow for a more unique "dating" experience with the hosts.
Prospective employees, or simply curious tourists, will be given the opportunity to test their services as either guest or host on a special training day, in which only Refugees will be allowed to participate. Guests will enjoy free drinks served by their hosts, who in turn, must offer pleasant conversation and companionship throughout the night. And once both are sufficiently inebriated, they'll be welcome to relax in the luxury baths, during which it is customary for the hosts to wash their guest's body beforehand in the most sensual way possible.
This, of course, is the actual appeal of Soapland, and no doubt the reason most won't be willing to actually work here. Perhaps that's why they refrain from explaining this duty until they're already in the bath, hoping that they might give it a try and change their mind, or become a future customer instead. At least it pays really well?
Bad Lucky Charms Yodogawa, Osaka
Nippon is a country filled with hundreds upon thousands of shrines, and Osaka is no different. Even among all the city landscapes, small shrines and temples can still be found tucked into nearly every corner. One such shrine in Yodogawa is Samuhara Shrine, which is known by locals to be a place of great spiritual power, and is home to one of the most powerful Exorcist families in Osaka.
Unlike most shrines, which offer small rectangular charms known as omamori, Samuhara Shrine offers unique ring-shaped amulets that can be worn on the finger, warding off bad luck and curses of all types. They are in far more limited supply both due to their power and the work that goes into producing them. And while those who are fortunate enough to arrive on a day when they're in stock will be able to walk away with the real thing, others may not be so lucky.
Given the lack of supply to meet the high demand for these powerful little charms, various entrepreneurs dressed as monks can be found throughout the area surrounding the shrine, claiming to sell the genuine article at a slightly inflated price. And by all means, they look very genuine! And even if they don't work, they still look nice, right?
Alas, it seems the spell used to create the charms is actually rather complicated. As a result of their inability to replicate these, these knock-off rings will actually curse the wearer into experiencing terrible luck in whatever aspect of their life they were hoping for the opposite. Those who wear the ring and pray for good luck in love may find their partner suddenly rejecting them. Those who pray for good fortune will lose their wallet. And those praying for the happiness of those around them will instead find themselves becoming the catalyst in making everyone around them miserable in one way or another.
Thankfully, visiting the shrine itself will allow the monks who actually work there to easily dispel the curse free of charge. Perhaps it's best to think of this as a learning experience. Don't trust shady monks selling things out of their coat pocket.
Go Fish Yodogawa, Osaka
But not everything in Yodogawa is worthy of suspicion, as the region is also famous for its annual firework festival held along the Yodogawa River. Enjoy the glittering sights of beautiful fireworks overhead while stuffing your face with the local cuisine, as booths selling Osaka staples such as okonomiyaki, takoyaki, and yakisoba sandwiches are plentiful and cheap!
Aside from being the perfect place to wear one's prettiest kimono, it's also known as a great festival to bring a date, as there's no shortage of festival games to be played! Of these, the most classic is the goldfish scooping game, in which players must use a rice paper net to catch goldfish and scoop them into a bowl before the net breaks. Although most of the fish in the tank are normal goldfish, a few have special enchantments should they be caught.
The small pink fish will cause the one playing to become obsessed with the first person they see, be it with feelings of love, hatred, or something weird and in-between.
The little red fish will cause the one playing to become downright amorous, encouraging them to strip off their clothes and get close to whoever seems interested.
And the little blue fish will imbue someone with good fortune, allowing them to accomplish whatever goal they set their sights on with ease, be it another festival game or winning someone's heart.
But whatever you do, don't cheat. Within the tank is a fish make of actual gold, that can only be caught with cheating. Although a monetary reward is promised to whoever can catch it, it's just a scam to encourage players to pay for more rounds. But should someone use magic to cheat and catch it anyway, it will curse them and make them cough up live goldfish for about an hour. They'll still pay out the prize, but it is not worth it.
OOC Notes
Welcome to Jikan's August TDM! The TDM is considered game canon, and also serves as the intro log! That said, whether you choose to carry threads over to the game or not is up to you!
• Current players are more than welcome to top-level, or take prompts from the TDM and use for their own logs! This may change in the future depending on how busy TDMs become.
• CRAU characters may start regaining their CRAU memories one month after the TDM. However, vague feelings of familiarity are allowed between previous game CR! For more on this, please read the FAQ!
• You do not need to sign-up for housing! Choose whichever style you prefer, in both Kyoto and Tokyo. Roommates can be chosen by the characters or can be random. If you want to switch housing later, your character has the option of moving at the beginning of each month.
• Characters will have the opportunity to recover their stolen items later in the month.
• Characters are welcome to receive the genuine ring from Samuhara Shrine, which is powerful enough to negate the curses of any ayakashi in the game, as well as the curse of the golden fish in the final prompt. The ring will break after negating 3 moderate curses, or one fatal curse.
• The little blue fish's good fortune cannot be used to catch the golden fish.
Please leave any questions about the TDM prompts in the thread below! General game questions can be directed to the FAQ!

Re: Questions?
Re: Questions?
Steve Harrington | Stranger Things
[ Steve had never been to Japan, never even thought he would ever be ther, but now here he is in some alternate Japan and has to make the best of it. So he does. He explores and figures out where some things are and eventually stumbles across a charming and rather busy seeming temple. He's heard a little bit about them and even has heard about the charms they sell there. What he hasn't heard about is the scammers who have fake charms that they sell to unsuspecting people.
So when a man who looks like a monk comes up and tries to sell him a good luck charm, Steve doesn't think anything of it. Honestly a good luck charm could be just what he needs. He's tried so much when it comes to romance and nothing seems to work. Nancy is out of his reach and every girl he manages to get a date with just can't seem to compare. So maybe a little charm could help him here? He buys one and puts it on, the band reminding him a bit of all the rings he had seen Eddie wearing before and honestly he really liked them. This one isn't so ornate and it's not made of metal, but it's still nice. Just a simple band made of some sort of stone or wood? He's not really sure.
The effect isn't instant and he isn't even sure what he's looking for but he just knows that something is going to happen. It has to right? It'll be great. Maybe he'll actually end up with a date by the end of the day! ]
2. Cute Little Fishies
[ Festival time is something that Steve is only vaguely familiar with. It sort of reminds him of the fourth of july...well of past fourth of July's...not the most recent one. Still, there are fireworks, games, and all kinds of foods. He sees people in kimono and can't help but think they look cool, some even looking really cute.
When he comes across a little gold fish catching game he's reminded of the fair games back home and can't help but put some money forward, stuffing the rest of teh taiyaki he had bought into his face, before setting about trying to catch various fish. He definitely tries a couple times for the gold one but after a few tries he figures it's rigged like the games back home and instead goes for something else. ]
Come on...come on...come here little fishy...that's iiitttt....
[ooc;; the fish that is caught will depend on who interacts with him, could have some funny stuff pop up!]
cute little fishies
Approaching the booth with the goldfish Miwako was very careful not to startle Steve who had been in deep concentration. Quietly she brought her little fists up close to silently cheer him on. ]
You can do it...
Aether (Traveler) | Genshin Impact
[Aether was no stranger to picking up weird and unusual part-time jobs, as that has become his primary form of income here in Nippon. This one seems rather tame by comparison, and while something about it reads a little suspect, he opts to give it a shot anyway as a host. He's even dressed nicer than usual (read: no crop-top) to fit the upscale feeling of the bar. And once he finds the guest he's meant to be serving, he leans over with a warm smile.]
Can I get you a drink?
[But after some drinks and pleasant conversation, things move on to the baths, at which point the signage makes it very obvious what the actual intent of this place must be, bringing a bit more color to Aether's cheeks. And yet he doesn't seem too deterred, still continuing to undress in the changing room as he muses aloud to whoever is nearby -- whether they're his guest or someone else.]
Ah... so this is one of those places. They really should have put that in the job description...
2 | Dress-up Darling
[After spending so much time in this world, Aether has more or less adapted to wearing the local fashion out of sheer convenience. So when the offer for a bogo comes up, of course he's there to nab a deal!]
[But the enchanted kimono are certainly something. And when he pulls one on, it only takes a few seconds for vast stretches of stars and galaxies to appear woven into the fabric -- much to his obvious delight. And when he sees someone else likewise enthralled by their design, it sparks an idea in his head as he slides the kimono off his shoulders.]
Do you think they always show the same thing? We should swap and find out! It'd be a shame to buy two if they ended up identical when worn, right?
3 | Go Fish | Smut Optional
[No matter how many festivals he attends, they're always a lot of fun. Between stuffing his face with food alongside Paimon and enjoying the view of the fireworks from whatever high vantage point he can find, there's always plenty to do to make the experience refreshing every time.]
[At some point, he winds up at the goldfish game, as Paimon eggs him on to try and get the golden fish. "Ooh, you were so close that time! That one's a real slippery guy, huh?"]
Do you really want the golden one? Why not a pink or a red one? Look, I can get one of those!
[And thus, he easily scoops up one of the two colored fish into his bowl, activating the spell just as he looks up at someone on the other side of the tank. Which color did he grab? You decide!]
4 | Wildcard
[Aether can also be found: exploring the culture festival at MRU, quietly watching the fireworks on the riverbank, drinking at a random bar in Yodogawa, or getting a legitimate ring at Samuhara Shrine. ALSO since I keep forgetting to mention this: he has cat ears and a fluffy tail thanks to Kizuna!]
2
As ephemeral as life...
[ He is also wearing one of those, and has another one in the tote bag he bought along with them. His kimono shows a silhouette mid-dance against the backdrop of a ballroom. The taller silhouette has horns that make it all too clear it's meant to be him dancing with a young lady. ]
Yes, let's swap for a moment.
[ He slips his off, and the pretty pattern fades. He holds it out to the stranger and takes the one offered to him. ]
They're good quality regardless, but you're right. I wonder how many fleeting scenes they can really show us?

shionne imeris | tales of arise
[Kimonos are different than the fashions she's seen on Dahna and Lenegis, and while she can't exactly say it's her preference, she can't deny there's something appealing about them. Not to mention they're not centuries old and from a dusty old ship.
Of course, any appeal the kimonos had is immediately ruined once she's actually wearing one. The enchantment creates a pattern of thorns and roses, the sight of which has Shionne scowling immediately.]
It's terrible.
[Ah... harsh.]
goldfishies;
[While snacks are what prompt Shionne to explore the festival in the first place - it all looks and smells delicious, and it's easy enough to grab food and find an out of the way corner to eat. Shionne is equal parts relaxed and on edge at the festival, which is probably why the goldfish game catches her interest. It makes her think of Kisara - she's not sure if the older woman would be delighted over a game of catching fish, or if she would consider it inferior to actually going fishing.
It looks interesting, though, and there wouldn't be any problem if she played it... It does seem like a silly waste of time, but Shionne's never been able to waste her time before. There's no Lords and no Rena here, so...
Just one round won't hurt, right?
She looks a bit out of place, trying to keep as much distance between herself and anyone else at the booth, holding her net like it's a weapon as she watches the fish intently.]
There-!!

Swims away.]

whatever. she still kills it, but the thought has her instantly looking around for itadori. if anyone's stupid enough to pop up and say otherwise, it's him. but nobara spots another girl instead, thin eyebrows arching at her harsh criticism.]
It's a nice color. What makes it so terrible?
Gocheau | Helix Waltz
this world is real, but also not. it's a stop on a much greater journey. eventually, we will all reach the other shore, through death
[ Stop him wtf ]
2 • dirty business
[ Look, Gocheau walks around with armor that doesn't cover his chest fully. He's okay with this for a job, and in the abscence of the Golden Merc Corps, he decides this is worth a shot!
His conversation is largely about death, dying, and the transcient nature of life. He won't be a hit in that regard, and those who stick with him are either as interested in the subject as he is, or find him too pretty to care.
The bath thing doesn't bother him either. Bodies are just bodies, and everyone will wind up as dust and bones in the end. He is, in fact very good at bathing others. He treats it almost ceremonially, a calm look and soft smile on his face. ]
Traditionally, my people cleanse the dead before burial. I suppose, since we're all marching toward death, that I'm preparing you for your journey to the other shore.

Eula | Genshin Impact
[ Despite never feeling so welcome in the city of Mondstadt, it's nonetheless her home and represents the ideals she will always fight for: Freedom. Eula wants to commend the students who have done their research, as the booths successfully convey how important the values of freedom are for her nation. Perhaps unsurprisingly to her, there is a pamphlet that briefly covers the dark history of Mondstadt, too... in particular a certain fallen aristocracy.
A lot of details are skimmed, and frankly too large to fit in a pamphlet, but it conveys how the Lawrence clan once ruled the city in tyranny. There are mentions of corruption, slavery, debauchery... and their ultimate fall from grace. Eula clenches her fist as she is once again shackled by the past.
She notices that the "Glacial Seal", her family symbol, is also depicted in the pamphlet. She's not the only one by the looks of it, as several bystanders notice that the very symbol is also reflected on her kimono. She casts the pamphlet aside and stands proudly for someone who has just been exposed as a villain. ]
Hm? Why yes, I am indeed from the dastardly bloodline this booklet thoroughly details. Can't you see how evil I am?
2. Bad Luck Charm
[ Eula always appreciated the notion of "fortune", as it was something that wouldn't discriminate by clan. No matter who anyone is, what they have done or haven't done, none of that would get taken into account as far as Lady Luck is concerned. Anyone can get lucky or unlucky... and in that sense, everyone is equal.
Or so she thought. Now, for some reason, fate saw it fit to punish her with misfortune. Surely the ring she bought ought to have the opposite effect? ]
Vengeance will be mine!
[ A strange thing to shout in public even once, except Eula can be seen cursing bloody vengeance at every small grievance... and at the same time not at anyone in particular. She loses her balance by stepping on a comedically misplaced banana peel? Vengeance. A malfunctioning firework somehow flies in her direction and narrowly misses her? Vengeance! Her wallet spontaneously blinks out of existence??
VENGEANCE!! AND she literally bites her tongue this time!! ]
3. WILDCARD... with vengeance!
[ Catch her doing general things like watching the fireworks or drinking heavily at some random bar! ]
CULTURE FESTIVAL GIMME
Dressed in a midnight blue kimono, with camellias decorating the lovely fabric, the very symbol of the Kamisato Clan, Ayaka is pushed around by the crowd beginning to gather around the Spindrift Knight. At the very front of the other festival goers, Ayaka's eyes meet the other lady's.
Some have started to take pictures, while there are whispers in the back of someone "Evil!!!" in the school premises, and that security should be called. Being a festival-goer herself, Ayaka would just like to enjoy the day and learn more, so... While Eula's not killing the vibe, she is making some people unsettled. . . ]
Miss Lawrence, since we are at a festival, perhaps we can take a break from being "evil"?
[ She highly doubts this other person is evil! If evil, why here??? That kind of mentality. But Ayaka always tries to see the best in people, regardless. ]

WILDCARD! Lemme know if this works!
Well. If the hard hitting whiskey in his hand was any indication as he finds a random bar lacking in flair compared to others, it was so he could forget about gong show of a day he had at the Samuhara Shrine. More specifically, surrounding said shrine... The damn entrepreneur was one helluva fake to get him into purchasing a pretty ringed amulet, only inflating the price by ¥2,000. Any other time? Cloud would have passed, if the charm hadn't been intended as a present for Ayaka. Sure enough, just when he thinks to pull out his little omamori she'd given him?
It was gone. Mysteriously vanished from his pocket. Bad luck wasn't just discriminating against him, it was working overtime. Whether it was a pot of tea getting spilt into his lap, his Osaka funds going missing, or most disheartening, his omamori being gone...ever since he got that damn ring, it was nothing but horrible things. There had to be a yokai or curse involved. Sure enough, by the time he finally decides to return to the shrine? The asshole who scammed him was nowhere to be found. If it hadn't been for a real shrine maiden spotting the young man down on his luck, this curse would have continued following him.
His Omamori? Winds up being in his other pant pocket. His funds? Well, some of them turn back up when an unsuspecting local tried donating a wad of coin and cash to the shrine. As much as they'd like to take the money? They...had a feeling that this mysterious stack belonged to the down-on-his-luck refugee. Not all of it is there, but at least what he's saved up to move to Kyoto was safe and sound at home.
Please for the love of god still be there nobody rob him. aksdhjfAll in all? 2/10 day. Would not recommend.
Now to try and make it a 3/10 after he's had a drink or two in him. Setting his cup down with a sigh as the warmth spreads through his chest, he takes to discreetly studying the patrons that came in and out of the bar...except for one person, a certain Spindrift Knight drinking at a table adjacent him. Of whom Cloud can't help keep stealing glances back at as he tries to avoid eye contact when he's drawn to the familiar emblem adorning her shoulder. ]
A Vision...? [ he softly murmurs to himself, chin in hand and the other around that nursed whiskey of his. ]

Atem | Yu-Gi-Oh!
[A very short young man with very spiky tri-colored hair was sliding on one these enchanted kimonos at the behest of the saleswoman. He had figured why not, there was a BOGO deal and if there was anything Yugi and his grandfather had taught him during his time in modern day Japan, it was looking for a good deal.
Almost immediately, the kimono changed colors and revealed a rather stylized depiction of Egypt. Sand dunes, pyramids, and even Slifer the Sky Dragon in the sky. The kimono as a whole took on a very beautiful golden color, with some hidden Eye of Ra's and ankh symbols here and there. A bit garish, in his opinion, but he also couldn't fault the magic behind it. Especially when that was only one half of the kimono. The second half, connected only by Slifer, seamlessly seemed to transition to the blues and purples of a night time modern day Japan. Domino City, to be exact. It took a few moments, but he was even able to locate Sugimoto's game shop and he was almost certain a similarly spiky haired young boy was entering said shop with his friends. It made him smile fondly, his hand passing over them.
When he tried on the second one, it went with a more purple and gold theme, with the stars, moon, and sun scattered about. The central piece, however, were the Seven Millennium Items depicted around an empty throne that sat atop one of the Items, the Millennium Puzzle.]
Ah, these are a bit on the nose, don't you think? Still, I can't deny the workmanship.
[And, despite his small stature, the voice that he spoke in was deep and rich. He turned this way and that in front of the mirror. The colors did seem to go well with his bronze skin and hair, despite the stylized artwork depicted. Yes, these would do nicely.]
Culture Festival
[Atem recognized the little sweet treats anywhere. The vendor was offering a sample to which he happily took a bite. The nut was different, though and he hummed.]
I suppose Nippon doesn't get tiger nuts, do they? What is this made from?
Ah, you are correct! I had found the recipe but sadly couldn't find the correct nut to use, these use walnuts but I also have an almond version.
[Atem tried that as well. While it did not taste quite the same, it was nothing short of delicious regardless and easily bought a bag of them to the vendor's delight.]
If you do ever get your hands on tiger nuts, I would recommend using those. That's how they used to be made thousands of years ago. Now... you wouldn't happen to know if anyone was selling honey cakes or even date loaves?
A sweet tooth today, eh? Check further on down there, I believe I saw something like that.
Thank you kindly, ma'am. [He turned to go in that very direction when he bumped right into someone!] Ah, excuse me, my apologies. Are you alright?

Finding the right shops that can quickly customize clothing to suit Kizuna effects is something Aether had experience with, after all -- and now that his own seem liable to stick around, he could use some new clothes as well.]
[Naturally, his eyes flicker over the Dragon pattern embroidered on the magic fabric, though he doesn't have too much time to think much of the symbolism therein. Did Brickston fancy himself a dragon?? Seems someone thinks rather highly of himself.]
[Regardless, he takes the offered kimono and simply slides it over his clothes. Although it too began as dark and plain fabric, once on Aether's shoulders, stars and galaxies flicker into view within the fabric, the shiny thread appearing to twinkle in the light. Only the visage of two shooting stars, larger and clearly the focus, distract from the background. And yet somehow, looking at them makes his expression grow a touch more muted, as he reaches up to trace one of the stars with his fingertips.]
...what do you think? Too busy, maybe?

Elliott Gilbert | Glee
Clearly the best idea when you find yourself in a new world that suddenly has weirdass things like magic, talking fox dudes, and time loops is to go get hammered. The guys at the orientation handed him money, a key to some itty bitty apartment god-knows-where, and told him good luck.
Dressed in tight, dark pair of jeans with a thick, sparkly belt, a black, rock band t-shirt, black fingernails, dangly earrings, and full eye makeup, Elliott heads to bars.
Come drink, dance, or get accidentally bumped into by him!
Dirty Business
He'd heard of some place paying really good money for someone to work at whatever a public bath was. Since he'd already spent a decent amount of the cash given to him on drinks and some decorations for his new apartment, he figured what the hell.
It's a weird place, but he decides to work as a host since it seems like all he has to do is chat and hang out in a tub with someone. At least, that was his initial impression. As the night goes on and he's handed more drinks both to serve the guests and to drink himself, the other job duties are revealed.
What the hell did he just sign up for??
[Wildcard!]
Whether he's out exploring the city or stuck next to someone on the train, he'll likely start chatting to whoever is around.
Bar
At least in this odd place, getting a beer was familiar. Germany of course knew his history about this place and knew it to be a place with amazing food. He himself hadn't ever gotten around to visiting this place, but he'd heard plenty about it from Japan himself. Silently he could admit to himself that it was nice to be able to be here finally, even if he had a pile of paperwork to do which included writing at least four proposals at the next meeting of the nations. That of course was before some strange repeating conversations with Prussia and a door that had appeared out of nowhere.
So for now he quietly sat at the bar alone with his beer, hoping Prussia would look after his three dogs.

Edogawa Ranpo | Bungo Stray Dogs
Hey!! That's cheating!
[A man with a heavily bandaged hand is checking his pockets and yelling at nothing. He looks very mad, though it's not immediately clear why -- as his outburst seemed to happen out of nowhere.]
What kind of big mystery is that, huh!? If you're going to be so obvious about it, at least show your face, coward!
2 | Bubble Bath
[While everyone else is experiencing the joys of being drunk and embarrassed at the turn of events, Ranpo is having a delightful time after completely blowing off his host to head for the bath... with an inflatable ring around his waist and a bucket full of bathtoys. Where did he get those?? His host appears too baffled by his behavior to stop him.]
[If he spies someone else looking equally baffled by his attire, he just laughs and grins, before squeaking a rubber duck at them.]
I hear this place has a really fancy tub that's deep enough to swim in! C'mon, let's go have a race!
3 | Flirty Fish | m/m for smut
[On the other side of the goldfish tub sits Ranpo, Trying His Best™ at catching the fleeting fish with his left hand -- his right, heavily bandaged. He doesn't seem to be having very good luck, quietly grumbling to himself as he keeps breaking the net or dropping the fish.]
Ahh... no luck this time either. [He looks up -- just as the person sitting across from him catches a pink fish!]
[Or perhaps the one sitting across from him will be the one who looks up just as Ranpo catches himself a pink fish of his own. Or maybe they've both caught one? Either way, he shoots them a grin as he stands--]
Say, you look like you could use a date for the festival! Ever spent an evening with a master detective? I've already deduced out all the best places to watch the fireworks later tonight!
4 | Wildcard
[Ranpo can also be found: trying on enchanted kimono in Higashiyama, stuffing his face with food at the MRU culture festival, and encountering those who've bought the knock-off ring-shaped amulet at Samuhara Shrine.]
Chang Wufei | Gundam Wing | OTA
Wufei has finally gone and gotten himself a job, and one he hopes will pay well enough for him to complete the project he has in mind. So he's dressed up in a suit, with a black vest over white shirt with a black bowtie as he approaches the table, towel thrown over one arm. He frowns like he's bitten into something unpleasant and sniffs a little as he looks down at his guests. "I suppose you'll do. Do you have any preference for drinks?"
It's a host club, and the theme is tsundere -- something that had to be explained to Wufei when he'd been hired, and as annoyed as he was, he was pretty good at it.
II. Double Dirty Business Closed to Duo
Imagine his surprise when he walks up to a table and sees his boyfriend sitting there. He clears his throat softly, trying to keep up the act but inwardly panicking. "Do you want something to drink?" He asks brisquely, his face already starting to go pink.
II. Double Dirty Business
He was directed to a table which he slid into with a sigh and grabbed up the menu to check out what was on offer. A little, thoughtful hum as he perused the prices and then... a voice spoke.
For a moment Duo didn't move, afraid he'd been caught doing something he shouldn't. Until the words registered and he looked up to find Wufei standing beside his table, that cute blush he loved so much staining his cheeks... and wearing a suit? What the hell?
"... Wu? What're you doing here...?"

Xie'er/Scorpion King [Word of Honor]
Once he got used to the idea of the new world and his purpose being here, Xie'er allowed himself to study the area a bit. He had been extremely confused how he was brought here especially when the last thing he remembered seeing was a lot of snow heading their way. In ways this was a better oppurtunity.
For now he was content studying the various kimonos. They were similiar to the hanfu he was used to wearing and he was eying a green and silver combination. There were a few other styles as well, some had a few leather designs taken in like the set he was wearing. It was a tough debate choosing.
2) Bars
Xie'er decided to check out the nightlife and see what the bars had to offer and what type of people were around. He wasn't afraid haven been raised on the streets and having to deal with various types. He often relied on various people on the streets for information or help when necessary. He might as well have some fun.
3) Wildcard
Feel free to bump into Xie'er anywhere or pm me if you have questions or want somehting more specific.
Wildcard
He puts no spell into today's music, though his fox ears and three tails (don't ask why he picks to show only three today, he's feeling a little contrary) shift with the music he crafts. Ears ticking, tails twitching at the ends as he claims a spot in one of the many parks that dot the area. But he picks out the sound of familiar steps approaching, and glances up and over with cautious delight - he knows not everyone who leaves and returns remembers their time before.
"A-Xie, welcome." The surest, swiftest way to see if this one remembers.

lumine (traveler) | genshin impact
illumine-ate: i'm new here and i'm looking for someone
illumine-ate: well, two someones
illumine-ate: one is my brother, aether
illumine-ate: he has gold eyes and a long blond braid
illumine-ate: i've been looking for him for a very long time
illumine-ate: the other one is paimon
illumine-ate: we just got separated
illumine-ate: she floats and she's tiny but she will eat more than her body weight in a single sitting
illumine-ate: please let me know if you've seen either of them
ii. the traveler's new clothes
[ Lumine is no stranger to finding herself in new worlds, though it seems odd to her that she would land in a place that looked like a weirdly tech-forward Inazuma. Lucky for her that there seems to be a sale going, and the enchanted line of kimono especially piques her interest.
When she slips her arms into the voluminous sleeves, the fabric shifts to reveal a twinkling pattern of star-like flowers, or perhaps they're flower-like stars? Either way, it's very celestial, and she quite likes it. Turning to the nearest shopper, she extends her arms to best display the pattern. ]
What do you think? Does it suit me?
iii. festival
[ Decked out in her enchanted star-flower kimono, Lumine takes full advantage of the festival to relax and eat her fill. It's... a little lonely, she'll admit, without Paimon there to tell her what's what, but she's never had a problem making new friends, and that isn't about to change now.
Standing in front of a food stall, she sidles up to someone else perusing the menu and says: ]
What's your favorite thing to get here?
[ Or maybe you've spotted her trying to catch a little fish! They're so cute, and having a new little friend would probably help her settle in to this strange new world. She's aiming for a blue one, but is that the color she catches? Or does she maybe scoop up a pink, or even a red one? ]
iv. wildcard
[ do you want another scenario with Lumine? go crazy, I'll play along. ]
BARREL ROLLS INTO HERE Festival!
...Lumine?
[Because just across the little fishing tub stands Aether, similarly dressed in a kimono filled with a starry night sky, his hair tied up in a pony tail... a-and a pair of cat ears on his head with a matching tail behind him. We'll get to that.]
[For a moment, Aether honestly wonders if he's just seeing things. It wasn't that log ago that Lumine disappeared from Nippon, and he hasn't been sleeping well since. Maybe he's hallucinating? But thankfully, he's not the only one who sees her, as Paimon floats over and spies her as well with a dramatic gasp, "Whoa! Lumine! When did you get back here?"]

Ye Baiyi | Word of Honor | Voice-testing
"Who is this Samuhara and what has he done that's so special?" A curt voice echoes rather loudly in the shrine. A tall man in white robes, dark hair, and a streak of white at his temple is side-eyeing a monk with a box of rings to sell.
"Idiot, do I look like someone who needs some unknown god's blessings? Besides, I bet those charms are either completely useless or made so poorly they'll cause a man problems for wearing them. Anyone foolish enough to them deserves whatever plague you curse him with."
With a humph, he watches with distaste as the monk hurries away from him without an answer.
Firework Festival (Go Fish adjacent)
Whether someone else mentions it or you come across it, there's someone sitting at a large table with what seems to be a serving of every dish being sold by the food vendors at this particular festival. The rumor is that this man has been actively eating for about four hours already.
Ye Baiyi munches contently without paying the slightest bit of attention to those around him. He does, on occasion, look up to ask a waiter (or whoever happens to be nearby and looking even remotely willing) to fetch him more liquor or food, but otherwise he's like one happy panda stuffing his face in a field of bamboo.
"This cherry flavored wine is not bad," he remarks and waves his hand to whoever is nearby. "Another bottle."
Wild Card
[ Find Ye Baiyi exploring the city while looking completely uninterested in everything or some other place eating. ]
[ooc: Tag in whatever form you'd like and I'll match it.]
Heeere Fishy fishy fishyyyyyyyyyyyyy~
He glances at the waiter and nods, dropping a bit of coin into the hopeful man's hand and getting bowed at.
"This place has a great deal to offer," he says in greeting and impudently takes a seat across the table as two bottles of wine are brought over, one set before him and the other by Ye Baiyi.

Wen Ning | Ghost General [the Untamed]
It had been a long time since Wen Ning seen a fire work festival. He enjoyed the colorful displays and quietly watched away from the crowds. He had his cloak on and hood over his head to keep from being noticed. He didn't want to agitate or scare anyone by his pressence. Even after all these years he was still cautious. He had just recently arrived in this strange world and had quietly kept to himself. The colorful display lighting up the sky, held his attention so he had moved closer to watch.
2)Wild Card-
Feel free to run into Wen Ning anywhere.
1
So he chances the festival, Fuxue at his back and wearing hanfu that had been recently gifted to him from a very good friend. A vaguely familiar presence tugs at his attention, drawing it over to...a hooded figure.
He's alive, these days. He can speak again. But he hasn't forgotten the touch of death, of being unable to move of his own free will. Of being pitted against someone who feels just like that figure. Lips part, then press calmly together as he pushes nerves aside to make his way over.
He also remembers before. The kindness of Wen Ning and his sister when he was still reeling from losing his eyes, then being able to see again.
"The fireworks are beautiful," he murmurs when near enough to be heard. But not to draw attention to them.
