i fully realize this is a silly question and i'm sorry for it being so dumb, but i see it says they can take seeds home and they're good as painkillers but can they be grown at home in pots...

They can, yes! But keep in mind they are full size trees, so imagine something like growing an apple tree in a pot. Technically possible, but might be better kept in a yard!
