quick question would you prefer a set up where he enters her apartment and she's already tangled up in the plant or they're eating and he's like "hey what's thaaaaaat"

Already tangled, I think? It gets the ball rolling immediately, and I think she'll be more willing if she thinks the alternative might have been Vore by Plant. Hanky panky is less terrifying when compared to dissolving in a pitcher plant like a fly.
