You've seen this before. The thought strikes suddenly, during whatever it is you were doing. Having an important conversation? Running away from home? Dying in the midst of a fierce battle? Where ever you are, one things is true: you're certain this isn't the first time you've lived through this. But upon realizing this, that's when it happens. Like someone hitting rewind on the VCR, you're back where you were ten minutes ago. And it happens again. And again. And again--Until finally, something is different. A door stands in front of you. Will you go through it? Nothing else seems to be working, so this might be your only chance.
Upon opening the door and heading inside, a strange feeling overwhelms you. It's comforting and warm, like being enveloped in a soft, heavy blanket. You hear a voice murmuring in your ear, but it's unintelligible.
And in the next moment, you've appeared in front of a mysterious stone shrine in the middle of a forest, surrounded by the unfamiliar yet worried faces of fox-like humans in red and white robes, speaking in a foreign language that doesn't sound so foreign to you anymore.
Maryouku University
There isn't much time to process what's happening before characters are transported to the nearby Maryouku University. All injuries are completely healed, and those under mental duress will have a powerful soothing spell cast on them to calm them down. Their every need is met: food is offered, and questions are answered. "You've arrived in the Western Kingdom of Nippon, on a planet called Gaia," they explain. "When you became aware of the timeloop, we... well, let us explain."
Orientation Maryouku University, Kyoto
Everyone is brought to a large auditorium, where dozens of other people looking similarly out of place are seated around them. The Kitsune Yokai from before filter on stage, as well as a number of humans and other Yokai in labcoats. And after a brief introduction, they begin to explain. What they experienced back home was a timeloop. While the loops in their home worlds are smaller and likely to resolve on their own, the fact that such a small amount of time is being repeated is what makes them so dangerous for those who become aware of it. And they've been working around the clock, checking adjacent universes for others who've become aware. While the technical explanations may go over the heads of most, that's not the reason they were all brought together like this.
And they continue to explain: their own world was trapped in a year long loop for decades, if not longer. Through the use of an ancient form of bonding magic, they bound their world to the present flow of time, allowing it to progress past the timeloop. Or at least, that's how they thought it worked. In truth, Kizuna is very powerful reality-warping magic. And thanks to the powerful bond all refugees now share with the country of Nippon, the magic surrounding them will only continue to evolve.
Until a means of resuming the flow of time back in their home world is found, they'll just have to make due with this one. But not to worry, because Nippon is fully committed to taking care of the refugees!
A Brand New Home Kyoto, Kansai
Once orientation is over, characters will be allowed to choose housing in both Kyoto and Tokyo, enabling them the means of easily living between both cities if they please. These housing options will be fully paid for by the government of Nippon, with the NRL and MRU providing a stipend for food expenses in Tokyo and Kyoto respectively.
In lieu of providing transportation, all refugees will be granted an unlimited rail pass that they can use to travel all across Nippon! As of the beginning of May, express routes connecting Tokyo and Kyoto will be running at all times of day, allowing refugees to freely travel between the Eastern and Western Kingdoms.
In Higashiyama, a certain ayakashi has been spotted all over the city: the wasurebana, the forget-me-flower ayakashi, who entices those who see it into picking the flower and losing their memory as a result. These memories can be something as simple as forgetting the last few days, to forgetting who they are entirely. Or even just specific things, like names and places. These effects will wear off once the flower wilts, but in the mean time, they sell for a pretty penny at most flower shops given the difficulty in harvesting them.
Over in Gion, various izakaya around the city are holding special deals in honor of Hina Matsuri. While typically a holiday for children, there's no reason adults can't have fun too! But only women will get to benefit from this special deal: all food is half-price, and drinks are on the house! But one bar is particular has taken a more extreme route: one sip of their exclusive Hina Drink will cause the drinker to physically transform into a woman. This effect only lasts an hour, so enjoy it while you can!
Over in Uji, refugees will find numerous signs warning that there have been reported sightings of the Uramibana on MRU campus grounds. All visitors to the campus will be offered charms that negate the ayakashi's effects. But most will never even know that the Uramibana are there, as only those who have killed someone will be able to see it. Although the curse is easily treatable, most aren't willing to admit that they were able to see the flower in the first place, given the implications. But with a charm in hand, those looking to see a rather rare supernatural occurrence (and who have a little murder under their belt) will be totally fine should they spot the patch of curious white flowers.
NRL Time Refugee Support Network
Once they've received their housing assignment, all refugees will be given small handheld devices called magi-tech comms, or magi-comms for short. They're heavier than a conventional smartphone would be, but far sturdier, and powered by the ambient magic that flows through the city. They don't need to be charged, but they won't work outside of cities at all. Upon booting it up, they'll find a message linking them to a special channel for refugees.

Cat Planet
Just south of the bustling city of Osaka lies Wakayama, a largely rural region of the Western Kingdom, well known for its plethora of ancient ruins and adherence to traditional customs. And while many of the small villages found here aren't usually the most friendly towards outsiders, things have changed!
At the start of the month, all refugees will find themselves receiving a mail from the NRL, passing on a message from Wakayama's Tourist Association.
"Hello Everynyan! We, the Bakeneko of Wakayama, have heard many tales of the great refugees from across time and space, but few of our kittens have ever had a chance to meet one of you.
Our kind isn't as well known as other Yokai, but here in Wakayama, our modest villages have been thriving. Won't you come and visit us for a week? It does the soul well to spend some time away from the hustle and bustle of city life. And you'll be just in time to see the Plum Blossoms!"

Simple Life Shingu, Wakayama
Taking a train from Nara will bring refugees to the Tanabe region of Wakayama. Small villages and vast fields of rice and other crops pepper the landscape. Even the largest station in the region is still rather small, with only a few trains available to head south to Shingu, the Bakeneko territory.
Stepping off the train in Shingu proper, refugees will be met by a group of curious Bakeneko kittens -- looking like miniature catpeople, and none standing more than two feet high. The tiny procession will lead them back to town, where the refugees will be quick to discover why the Bakeneko likely keep to themselves. They are a very small people, coming in a variety of forms. While most Bakeneko will simply appear as human-like with some cat features, the elders are for more feline, with some looking more like ordinary cats walking on two legs.
And given that not a single one of them is taller than 5 feet, it goes without saying that their buildings are designed with their height in mind. Most refugees will have to duck under doorways, signposts, and-- well, just forget about taking a rickshaw around town. Thankfully, the only inn within the village is designed with travelers in mind, and the ceiling are the highest in the village: nearly 6 feet high! But you might still need to ask for a second futon if you don't want to sleep with your legs on the floor.
But the biggest draw to the village right now is the Plum Blossoms. The entire countryside is filled with bright pink flowers, the petals dancing in the wind. Villagers will invite refugees out to a large picnic gathering under the flowers, with plenty of free food and drink to go around. And as they skitter about, Bakeneko Kittens will tell them that if they catch a petal in the palm of their hand (or paw), they can make a wish.
Ordinarily, this is just a superstition. But for the refugees, who are all imbued with reality altering Kizuna magic-- if they make a wish, it might just come true.
Stuck In A Tanabe, Wakayama
It's believed that one of the reasons Wakayama is still so heavily affected by the power of long gone gods is due to a naturally occurring tree known as mahougi, crystalline trees that can be found all over Wakayama's cities and towns, releasing ambient magic into the air. Over the centuries, many have been cut down or relocated to cities across Nippon, and today they are rumored to be the power source for magi-tech within major cities in the East.
Of these, the most powerful is the Momoirogami, a massive tree located in the Tanabe region, whose pink, crystal-like flowers resemble plum blossoms. The roots of the Momoirogami sit in gnarled twists and turns at the base of the tree, creating small alcoves and crawlspaces that extend to a secret shrine built under the tree itself. Crawling beneath the tree to pray at the shrine is seen as rite of passage in Wakayama for those studying higher order magic.
But not every path to the shrine is so obvious, and many may find themselves becoming trapped in the roots with their ass sticking out. Praying to the Momoirogami is all that's needed for the roots to loosen their hold, but not everyone is going to know that. And if that weren't bad enough, just being around the Momoirogami may cause severe kizuna effects to manifest!
With just how large the tree is, some may end up trapped for hours before they're saved by one of the Miko who tend the shrine. Better find some way to pass the time!
Where the Wild Things Are Southern Wilds, Wakayama
Those in search of something a bit more exciting may see fliers around various cities in Nippon seeking those with an adventurous spirit willing to explore the Southern Wilds of Wakayama in search of a certain type of flower. Known as etherblossoms, these flowers are critical in research pertaining to the creation of stable teleportation points -- a dream long held by many in the West who find the trains to be a bit too slow. Ordinarily, these blossoms can only be found in the protected lands atop the floating Tengu cities, making it impossible to harvest them.
But recently, these distinct flowers have been spotted along the mountains of the Southern Wilds of Wakayama, and a high bounty has been placed on them: one million yen for anyone who can bring back either a living specimen or seeds.
What's the catch? Well, the Wilds are called that for a reason. These areas are considered cursed, having once been the dominion of ancient gods who lost their lives on mortal soil. While not nearly as dangerous as the Northern region, the Southern Wilds are home to many a type of monstrous creature or ayakashi.
In addition to nearly every sort of ayakashi one can imagine, these forests are also home to a creature known as the Gatagami, the rattling god. Taking the form of a larger-than-life skeleton, this creature will chase after those exploring the forests, its body contorting to fit through gaps between trees. Thankfully, the Gatagami isn't very powerful, and all it can really do is attempt to shove people off cliffs and scare the living daylights out of them. Instead, what makes it so dangerous is how persistent it can be, known to follow after exorcists and hunters alike until they collapse from exhaustion. And no matter how much damage you cause this bony god, given a few minutes, it will quickly put itself back together again.
If you don't have the stamina to match against a god, you'd better hope you're really good at hide and seek if you want to claim that million yen prize.

Welcome to Jikan's March TDM! The TDM is considered game canon, and also serves as the intro log! That said, whether you choose to carry threads over to the game or not is up to you!
• Current players are more than welcome to top-level, or take prompts from the TDM and use for their own logs! This may change in the future depending on how busy TDMs become.
• CRAU characters may start regaining their CRAU memories one month after the TDM. However, vague feelings of familiarity are allowed between previous game CR! For more on this, please read the FAQ!
• You do not need to sign-up for housing! Choose whichever style you prefer, in both Kyoto and Tokyo. Roommates can be chosen by the characters or can be random. If you want to switch housing later, your character has the option of moving at the beginning of each month.
• Destroying the wasurebana flower can also remove the effects of the amnesia more quickly! Likewise, putting it in a glass of water to prevent wilting will prolong the effects.
• You are welcome to have your character cursed by the Uramibana without being given a charm, should they be able to see it. Just keep in mind that death is permanent in Jikan, so they will need to seek a cure! Character who have never killed someone cannot see the flowers, and cannot be cursed by them.
• Although they do call their children Kittens and retain some notable cat-like mannerisms, such as curling up to nap just about anywhere, calling a Bakeneko a Cat will offend them!

2. Are the various trees branches thick enough to walk? I assume the Momoirogami's might be, but I gotta ask. Also how tall are these? I play a bird.

Er, excuse me? Could you tell me where I am right now? I think I'm a little lost.
[If Aether seems a little confused, well-- that's because he is. He plucked one of the blue flowers out of curiosity, and has since forgotten basically everything. Is he asking a stranger, or someone he should already know? Either way, his countenance is the same. At least he seems fairly calm about it.]

[As a refugee with permanent cat features thanks to Kizuna, of course Aether wanted to check out the Bakeneko village. He spends a few hours just exploring the area, talking to natives about their lives here, and always being followed around by a curious Kitten or two.]
[The plum blossoms are beautiful, and remind him a lot of the trees back in Inazuma. He spends a little time with Paimon at his side trying to catch a few petals. Is there a wish he wants to make, maybe?]
[But as night falls, he doesn't bother heading to the inn, even if he's short enough to manage it. Instead, he finds a nice clearing and sits down on the grass, face angled towards the starry night sky overhead, lost in his thoughts. And should someone approach at just the right time, they may catch him holding out a hand and conjuring what appears to be a tiny snippet of the stars and constellations overhead, before it disappears just as quickly.]

[After a very bad experience in the Northern Wilds late last month, you wouldn't think that Aether would be interested in trying to explore them again. But this is different -- these are the Southern wilds! And he's at least a little more prepared this time!]
[Of course, while he knows they're looking for a type of flower, what it looks like was a little vague. For the most part, they were told they would know it when they see it, because of just how distinct it is. The colors varied, and it may appear almost ethereal. Which aren't very good descriptions for something when you're looking for it in the middle of the wilderness.]

While Scaramouche doesn't live in the village, he finds some residents have slowly started to treat him as though he does - especially the children. With how often he finds himself there he supposes that it looks that way, and he can't complain when he's no longer being threatened for showing up and climbing through a certain samurai's window.
He's making his way back from a day of people watching when he passes by the clearing Aether's made himself comfortable - having been convinced by some kittens to follow them to see all the refugees visiting. It's the faint twinkle of light he catches in the corner of his eye that draws his attention to the man, pausing in his steps before he decides to wander over, arms crossed.]

Yu Mingye • Dance of the Phoenix
[ Flowers had been, honestly, something that Mingye would always enjoy. Even before he showed up in Nippon he'd enjoyed them. The scents of them and just the beautiful array of colors. Of course, flowers also made him think of Little Fairy. When he'd tried to win Feng Wu from Jin Linyuan. What the crown prince had, he'd wanted. That seemed like so long ago.
He doesn't know what exactly drove him to pick the flowers, but he had. They were beautiful. Why wouldn't they be? Forget-Me-Nots came in an assortment of colors, but blue seemed to be a theme and he loved the colors.
Now? If he could only remember where he was and who the people around him were. Possibly even who he, himself, was. Though, he's not about to tell someone that he's forgotten that. They might think him crazy. ]

[ Okay, so he's not really had a drink since living with Runyu. Not that he even really minds it. Especially when their dragon doesn't drink alcohol anymore. That's not, however, to say that while in Gion he doesn't find one of the bars and have a bit of the Hina drink.
He does not expect to have his body suddenly change, be more feminine. That? It just has him glaring. Those tri-colored eyes narrowing on the drink before him. Maybe he would just stick with tea from now on. Before he murdered the alcohol where it sat and not by drinking it. ]

[ It was weird, really, being in a place where he had to duck everywhere he went. This? It would probably be easier if he was in raven form, but the place itself was nice. Even the bakeneko weren't so bad. Of course, he's bound to listen to the kittens.
If he has to sit off somewhere, he will. If he has to eventually shift, he will. Either way, it was nice being around the bakeneko. And a certain cat joins him, even better. But until then he would look around or sit around, so as not to hurt himself or anyone around him. ]

[it's strange, being the one who's brought somewhere instead of being the one who brings. daeshim appears to be one of the more naturally calm ones gathered, watching and listening to the humans and yokai with little expression on his face. only once does he get distracted, because he's sitting back enough in his chair that his feet dangle, so he starts to watch as he moves them back and forth.
he's short. and easily amused sometimes.
when it's all done, his attention turns to whoever is beside him, his expression still blank except for the contrasting bright curiosity that shines in his eyes.]

[he's not one who would normally pick flowers, especially not one that's growing in a place where it should be struggling to survive. but the longer he stares at the shimmering blue flower, the more daeshim's fingers twitch with the urge to do exactly that.Â
maybe that's why he feels instantly sad - sadder after he does have the flower clutched in his hand. he's not sure, he suddenly can't really remember much, and it leaves him feeling cold and empty.
the only thing that dae does remember is the cure for this feeling: so he seeks the nearest body and tries to wind his arms around them, hugging them fiercely despite his small size. he knows this. someone taught him this.

[daeshim has a cat....okay, he has someone's cat and can't truly call it his own. he can only take credit for making it fat and slightly magical. he likes it well enough, but it doesn't speak, and if it did he doubts it would invite him to see plum blossoms. so it's at that moment that he decides that bakeneko > cats. and once he does arrive in shingu, there's yet another reason for him to like them:]

[well. almost. tall bakeneko lack only a couple of inches from being eye level with daeshim. this and the countryside and the beautiful flowers... he likes it. for someone who struggles to admit that he likes just about anything, it means a lot. there's really only one thing that keeps it from being perfect.
a plum petal falls into the palm of his hand, and daeshim blinks at it a few times before looking up at whoever's nearby.]

he lets out a small little oof when a body collides with his and wraps around him and it takes baein a moment to register who it is. ]

Getting a second chance at life here merely dragged on the painful feelings of loss for the first couple of months, and in truth, they still lingered. Still... New Years had reminded them both that while it was okay to miss him and the other Maple House residents, allowing those hurtful feelings to have so much control over them wouldn't do any good.]

As a resident, this sort of celebration isn't for him. Kazuha was about to make his way back down the path towards his home when he catches sight of a familiar face. Startled, he pauses, looking over at the man like he's seen a ghost. He feels amost like he has.
He knows that face, but they have never met.
Curiosity brings him over, and he helps himself to his own cup of umeshu as he stands next to him.]
I have heard tales that making wishes in Nippon in similar situations has sometimes granted a wish, especially regarding wishing for the presence of someone you miss. However, none of these wishes have ever been granted for me.
[His speech is very humble, though he has a slight accent that would be hard to place for any region in Japan or Nippon. The short man turns his head, smiling at him.]

Here, with the plum blossoms scattered amongst the wind as thick and light as snowflakes, he finds himself peering in mild curiosity at the sight of the smaller, human-looking creature. Recognition lights up his gaze, chased after almost immediately by a curious, pondering look. He recognizes him; he just doesn't know from where. ]
... ah! [ It wasn't as though he'd been chasing after plum blossoms himself. He just happened to be around.
His arms folded over his chest, Tyki unfurls one and points - not at all rude, really - in Scaramouche's direction, palm facing up. ]
You were the one on the phone with the samurai boy.

There was something he was forgetting, Wufei knew that much for certain as he gazed down at the flower in his hand. Something big, and important, like a piece of his soul had been removed. He frowned at the petals and reached up to touch the bridge of his nose before casting his gaze around at the ground.
"Excuse me," he called to the nearest person. "I've dropped my glasses. Have you seen a pair in the grass?"
He hasn't owned a pair of glasses in three years, so good luck finding them.
II. Plum Blossoms
There are few things Wufei likes more than flowers, so when he heard there was a plum blossom viewing in Shingu it wasn't a hard decision to go check it out. Which was exactly how he found himself seated at the public picnic, sitting seiza as he enjoyed a cup of tea and the pink petals fluttering around him. While he looked relaxed and calm, his choice of location is a little unusual -- instead of out in the open like most guests, he's picked a shady patch of grass next to a building, his feet touching the wall behind him.
Despite his relatively relaxed posture, his gaze is jumping from place to place, following the closest movement and assessing, dismissing, before moving on to the next. When his gaze locks with someone else's, he holds it for a long moment, as if weighing the person before lifting a brow.

Wufei was a scholar, so when he heard about things that were impossible on his home world, he went to investigate. It wasn't hard to find the massive crystalline tree, picking his way carefully through the roots and trying to get closer to the blossoms.
"Be careful," he warns when he sees movement in his peripheral vision. "It almost seems like the roots are trying to trip me." As if to prove his own point, he staggers, lurching forward only to catch himself on his hands. With what looks like an effortless push he turns the stumble into a tumble and lands lightly on his feet, but he's no closer to those flowers he was pursuing. It doesn't seem to dampen his spirits, though, because he's smiling as he tries to pick out another path, a faint pink aura surrounding him, like a cloud of perfume in a cartoon, except that he seems oblivious to it.

[The young woman sat on a bench with a pretty blue flower in her hands. She had picked it up, she thinks, because of how beautiful it looked. It seemed to glow, and somehow that reminded her of something... Something important. But she couldn't think of what it was.
In fact, she wasn't entirely sure who she was.
Her face was scrunched up in concentration, desperately trying to think... and as she thought, she spoke.]
I have a name... I must. I have a mother, and a father, how else would I be born? I have a home. Of course I have a home. I am... sure I have one... Maybe?

B: Flower Viewing:
[Aerith was in her element!
She stood in a field, surrounded by blossoming trees, their petals falling delicately around her. She had the little pink petals all over her, in her hair, on her clothes. There was laughter as she twirled and made those petals all spiral off of her and flutter to the ground.]
This is wonderful!
[Her smile was bright and infectious, her gaze turned skywards to watch more of those flowers fall, pink mixing with the deep blue of the afternoon sky. It was a beautiful day. Almost beautiful enough for forget her sorrows.]

[Now, Aerith wouldn't say she was adventurous, but she sure did have spunk! And she wasn't looking for a reward. All she had heard was that there was a rare and special flower that was in need and she had rolled her sleeves up (figuratively) and took off in search of it.

While Aerith my not have been the adventurous type... she was a little reckless and didn't often think before she acted. It didn't help the fact she hadn't stuck around to hear all the warnings either. So, of course, there she was, running through a forest with a giant skeleton chasing after her.
She'd attempted to ward it off but she just wasn't strong enough. Her fire materia had come in handy and stalling him but he was persistent.]
Just leave me alone! [She cried out at it, angry and frustrated, throwing more fire magic at it's boney knees to try and trip it up.] Why don't you go bother someone your own size?!

A
[Genesis was quite used to living well below his means these past several years, even if the last few was spent sealed away. Of course, being caught in a loop of his release over and over had certainly been unpleasant and so once that door appeared just above Weiss's body, he easily took that route. Weiss will have to wait. That being said, what Genesis walked into was certainly not at all what he expected. Then again, who would?
Still, the last thing he also expected was for Sephiroth to arrive in much the same manner and while an odd feeling of camaraderie came over him in a way he was certain he hadn't felt in a decade at this point in his life, it certainly wasn't enough keep him at the NRL. Monthly stipend in hand along with that brief explanation in mind, Genesis immediately headed out and to a place that would be well away from the silver haired general for long enough that he could get his head on straight and come up with a plan. A few hours by train followed by another few by flight and Genesis neatly found himself in Osaka. Thank goodness for maps.
Within a week, he found himself gainfully employed and housed in an apartment right above said employment. He would have preferred a bookstore but what he chose instead was much more convenient. It was a jazz bar located in a blink and you miss spot, they were in need of a pianist and a bartender. Genesis wasn't particularly well versed in drinks but he knew how to play the piano, and he was a quick learner. Thus, if you find yourself in Osaka and happen to hear music playing, follow the sound and you'll find the neat little bar that sold both amazing coffee and eclectic alcoholic drinks.
Genesis smoothly stood from the piano once a new patron arrived, dressed in a deep red waistcoat and black collared shirt but combined with black hakama pants. His long auburn hair was tied back in a braid, he tilted his head lightly with a small smile, earring glinting in the dim light.]
Good afternoon, what can I get you?
[One may also notice that his eyes have a very distinct blue glow. It isn't overly bright or anything of the sort, but it's also hard not to notice that these weren't ordinary bright blue eyes.]

[Fighting against monsters was nothing new for Genesis. It came with the territory of being a SOLDIER First Class once upon a time. He was only one of four, so he had the power to back up his almost bored tone as he ducked around a particularly thick tree as the rattling god decided to continue rattling its way toward Genesis. The thing was pathetic really, but it was also immortal and persistent which was probably worse than the other ayakashi he faced while securing the etherblossom. All this just for a flower.
Well, he couldn't complain. The bounty was very generous so it had been entirely his choice. Still, this was getting very tiresome. He needed to find a clearing to take flight, the canopy above was too thick and his wing too long to properly use. But of course, the awful rattling was getting closer.]

[He clicked his tongue and swept his hand along the crimson blade in his hand, runes lighting up as fire magic took hold. He said a mental prayer of apology to the forest as he was loathe to burn even a twig given the ayakashi very keen on cursing him. He would have waterga on standby should the fire reach any of the foliage. He stepped out from behind the tree and kicked off the ground to swing hard at the rattling god.]
Simple Life
[Genesis stood amongst the falling plum blossoms. They were quite beautiful, he had to admit. He wasn't sure anything like it existed on Gaia. His Gaia, that is. The Planet was full of amazing and wondrous things that had sadly been completely eradicated from the years of devastation the Shin-Ra Electric Company caused. It was on the mend, at least. Perhaps one day he would see trees like this bloom, for now this place with the little cat people would have to suffice. Reeves would enjoy this place, Reeves with his little Cait Sith.
He held a hand out, letting a petal fall onto the palm of his hand. Ah yes, the locals advised to make a wish should he catch one. He huffed lightly and gently blew the petal away.]

Nothing happened, of course, and Sephiroth was just about to lower his hand and discard the petals when he heard a very familiar refrain somewhere behind him. His hand closed around the delicate flora instead and he turned his head and then his entire body. ]

[ Sephiroth's lips remained slightly parted. The wind picked that moment to kick up more petals between the two, sending a swirl of pink dancing between them. ]

Plum Blossoms:
This is nice. I can get used to this.
[No weirdness. Just lazing around in the grass. He had a drink beside him but to drink it would require moving and just for the moment, Duo didn't want to. He wanted to remain relaxed in the sun, the pretty pink petals falling down all around him.
This was the life.
Wakayama:
[Secret shrine? Why the hell not? He'd managed to wriggle into smaller spaces over the years. One could almost call it a talent!
Duo forgot he wasn't home. And this was a whole new world and things just didn't work the same way.
Take this tree for instance? He was pretty sure the damn thing had deliberately trapped him! He wriggled and struggled and somehow only managed to wedge himself in more securely. There was no way to turn around, no way to pull back. And worse, he was getting dizzy. He wasn't being held upside down so he knew it wasn't the blood rushing to his head, it was the strange scent clinging to the roots of the tree. It left him feeling breathless and in real need of getting the hell away.]
Dammit all... Lemme go!
[He wriggled some more, stuck in knot of roots up to his waist, the end of his braid could be seen slithering along his back, tickling the pale expanse of skin on show from his shirt riding up.]

And he had done his fair share of sneaking around as well, so he didn't mind crawling through some roots. That was when he stumbled upon the jackpot. Some kid was apparently stuck, ass on display, trying to wiggle through a root ahead of him.
Of course, there wasn't just one path. After getting himself a good view of what was happening, he climbed himself around through another path nearby so he could find the front half of that ass. It was just too good to pass up. And when he did he sat himself down on the little hollow on the other side where he could talk to Duo face to face.]
Oh man, you got yourself in a real pickle here. Looks like you need a little help, d'ya?

Lennon is more than a little charmed by all the little cute cat people. Some of them are a bit weird looking, honestly, but all of them make him want to pet them -- which, he doesn't. He's pretty sure that would be rude. Still, this is some Instagram worthy scenery and he can't even take advantage of that fact really. Still, he can enjoy himself.
The Plum Blossoms draw his attention, as one would imagine, he is more than eager to accept the invitation to a picnic. When is the last time he'd had a picnic? He can't even begin to remember. He takes a drink and finds a place to settle for the moment, leaning back to enjoy the sight and scents around him. The fairytale from the Bakeneko Kittens almost seems like it could be real with everything else unimaginable around him. he holds out his hand for a moment as if to try and catch a petal before dropping.
"Stupid," he shakes his head at himself, dropping his hand to the ground to lean on.

But he's still caught a lot of the plum blossom petals, collected them until he has to close both hands around them. It's taken him hours, all day really, and his legs and his neck and his arms ache from his effort.
He hasn't made his wish yet. He's not sure when he will, maybe when he feels confident that it won't backfire. But all of the fae's effort seems to be for nothing when his hands suddenly fall to his sides and the dozens upon dozens of petals are carried off on the breeze, free for someone else's wish. Daeshim doesn't seem bothered because-
Because he sees his wish in front of him, at least one of them. He goes running for Lennon, practically sliding across the ground to flop across his lap.

[ Sephiroth has found himself in awkward situations before, but those usually involve other people and not trees. His hair obscures his vision but he can still make out some markings on the wall of the--temple, he presumes--and he is doing his best to read them because he is this close to cutting his way out of here. Or setting the whole thing on fire. Whatever works.
The only thing holding him back is the fact that this place is clearly magical. Sephiroth felt the roots tighten around him while he dragged his tall body through them. Normal trees don't do that.
So he's trying to read the writing on the wall while fingering the materia in his bracer in what some might call an ominous manner, but still. He's trying. It's the thought that counts. ]

So, what better way to end the day than by checking the sex tree again? See if there were any other poor captured souls. Might be good for a laugh before he gave up and collapsed somewhere for the night.
Already knowing the potential danger, Reno was extra careful not to let anything catch him anywhere, lest his ass get left showing. But while he was coming to alleviate his mood, what he came upon was the last thing he expected to see.
He didn't have to see the other side to identify him. Sephiroth could probably be identified by one strand of hair. But, Reno didn't really expect to be seeing his ass today.
He'd talked to Aerith and knew Sephiroth was here, but seeing him in person was another matter. Had it been the old times he'd have outrighted laughed at the grand hero stuck in a tree; but it wasn't the old times. Even if Aerith said he was different, he was from earlier, Reno was hesitant.]

Lan Sizhui / Mo Dao Zu Shi / OTA
Lan Sizhui had been living in Nippon now for a few days...but he hadn't really left the house. It wasn't his house, he had a room there but the house belonged to Lady Jiang and she was kind enough to allow him to have a room there. A room that he had remained in for that first day after he had arrived. He'd felt tired down to his bones and slept clear through to the next day.
After that he remained there, though he did look over his new accommodation, and found he enjoyed sitting in the garden.
Which was where he was now on that third day. He was sat under a small tree, gazing up at the branches and the patches of blue between, wondering just what to do with himself...
Forget Me:
In the end he'd decided to put the pass to good use. And after letting Lady Jiang know he would be gone for the rest of the day, Lan Sizuhi left to go and see what the world outside of the house contained.
It was just a shame the first place he came to was Higashiyama and he was curious enough to pick a flower there.
What happened next was a teenage boy falling to the ground in a heap and immediately bursting into sobs.
Hina Time:
At some point Lan Sizhui would decide to go travelling again. This time he would find himself in the city of Gion. To his joy there is a holiday in effect and the food is cheap!
Sizhui wanders the streets eating meat from skewers and checking out all of the sights, until he finds a bar that boasts a special kind of drink. Again, his curiosity will be his downfall, as he enters and orders the drink. It was sweet with a strange aftertaste, but not terrible. Sizhui would have ordered another if, when he spoke, his voice didn't sound like his. It was higher, more feminine.
"What in the world?" He caught at his throat, his other hand coming up to his chest... and then he went bright red. Oh no. What was in that drink?!
Blossoms:
Third times the charm?
This time Sizhui had actually heard about this city where the people were cats and they had a flower viewing festival that he had thought sounded nice. So once more he used that pass of his, nervous this time, and travelled to Wakayama.
There he would find those kitty people and find them truly adorable, having to resist wanting to pet them!
But he also found that area of the countryside that he had been promised/ A sea of green and pink, blossoms floating in the air. It was a beautiful and refreshing sight!
Sizhui would be found at the food and drinks tables or sitting on a blanket enjoying something to eat while watching the pink petals fall. Or maybe he's walking through a field, or sat at the base of a tree, just drinking in the peace and getting a little meditation in while he could.
And maybe he would catch one of those petals in his hand...?
But what to wish for?
Hidden Shrine:
Since the flower viewing had gone so well, he decided to stretch his luck and go and investigate a place hed heard the Bakaneko talk about. A secret shrine inside the roots of a giant tree.
Sizhui wanted to see just how big this tree was as much as he wanted to look for that shrine.
Which is how he had found himself embarrassingly stuck.
He made for a pitiful sight, just slumped there, realising his mistake almost immediately. The crawlspace had looked like it would have fit two of him but... seemingly not. All he could do was wait for someone to find him. He did attempt to call for help, but who would hear him so deep within the roots of the tree?
Shrine
"A Huorn, here? Or just a tree whose heart has rotted?"
Not that it matters. Both will kill, if he lets it - and he doesn't know enough about this land to know if it is one or not, so he cannot risk waiting.
"Hold on!" He calls, and takes a deep breath, reaching for the Song. It's been a long time, since he's had to raise his Voice like this, and he's no Green-elf, to politely coax.
What comes out of his mouth is music, but music like nothing Shizui has heard before. It sounds like something green, like a wood, older than old, whose roots go deep and whose branches tangle together to block the sun. There's power there, deep and strong, inexorable as the tide. Let him go! Maglor demands. You should not be waking! Drink water, dig deep. Eat earth, go to sleep! He pushes at the tree, with all the fire and power of his blood, the song echoing the crackle of flames, greedy and hungry, licking at the branches, which sway and creak in protest.
The Song builds, bright flame against green wood.
Let him go, or I'll burn you to the roots. He snarls, eyes burning silver bright, the fire of his spirit flaring clear and hot, and the tree creaks in protest, the roots around Shizui flexing and then loosening with a protesting screech, pushing him out and away.

Rude had lost count of how many bars he'd walked into, hoping to see a familiar head of red hair. That familiar voice. But no. Not even close. He thought he had in one bar but it turned out to be someone else. Rude had just walked away from that. Maybe he should have actually been asking if someone had seen a guy named Reno?
Fine. He stepped up to someone. "Have you seen a redhead? This tall." Rude lifted his hand to gesture at himself and how tall Reno was compared to himself. "Answers to Reno?"
If that didn't work he would just move on to the next bar.
The Old Bone:
A flower with a one million yen bounty on it's head? You bet Rude was on the hunt for it.
Brand new to a brand new world with barely enough money to get him through the month? Sure, housing was free. That helped. But he didn't want to owe anyone. Didn't want to rely on anyone. He could have gone out and found a job but what was the point in that if he could just walk into the wilderness and make a cool mill finding some flower?
They'd just forgotten to mention the old bone guarding it.
Rude stood with an extra large femur in his hands, a femur he'd stolen the first time he'd knocked the thing on it's ass. Now he was using it as a weapon against it. Every time it got up, Rude would smack it around the head a few times and get a little further.
Eventually he'd find that flower and get that money.

What a relief it was to see him. Reno had never been very good as a loner. After giving himself a moment to savor this victory, he sauntered confidently over to where Rude was.
"So you figure out anything about this place? I know what they said, but I kinda figured my brain might've been fritzing out while I'm dying somewhere. If that's the case, took you long enough to make an appearance. And you damn well better not be dying."
