[Dohalim is no stranger to the arukibake, having lived in Nara close to the entire time he’s been in Nippon. he spots them tucked away in corners around certain people and places, and as such, he’d at least give them some sort of acknowledgement in hopes that it’ll dispel the creatures. despite that, every so often, he’ll find himself with a small procession, depending on how low of a mood he’s in. that isn’t to say that he’s been stuck in the same place as several months ago. no, he’s, overall, in a better mood, but with recent events and losses, Dohalim isn’t surprised to see one or two of the leggy boys following behind him. at least they have the courtesy to stay by the door of his shop, and out of the way of guests walking in and out of the door. every so often, as Dohalim puts out fresh cut flowers and pre-made bouquets, he’ll glance up at a poor soul being followed by the arukibake before offering them a sympathetic smile]
Would you like to come in for some tea?
[perhaps tea might be a great idea. or maybe the draw of a handwritten “help wanted” sign is an enticement? or maybe drop in to smell the flowers! Dohalim won’t mind the company]
SpritsSweets In The Sky:
[not one to indulge too much on overly sweet treats, Dohalim doesn’t partake in the new sweet shop that seemed to have opened overnight. but he does investigate to see if he can gain a new partnership in hopes of serving a parfait offering or two in his shop if the demand calls for it. but as the weather improves and grows warmer, Dohalim finds himself in the upper quarters anyway, to enjoy the view and greenery.
what compels him to bring his violin this time, however, he isn’t sure. he hasn’t played a single note of it in years, and that the idea still makes him nervous to do so. a small part of him tells him that he has no right to lift his violin up again, to play it again, after all that he’s done, but. he’s made a vow to start forgiving himself, and perhaps that playing the instrument will help him in the long run.
so, as he sets up along a pathway, he plays a long, quivering note, before transitioning to playing a song so well practiced that he isn’t surprised he still remembers the notes all these years]
