Sylvando | Dragon Quest XI S

Gion-An actor's life is the life for me

Sylvando had yet to see one of these 'movies' himself, but had to admit that they did sound fun! And being in them sounded even more so. So when word of the open audition call for refugees had reached his ears, he'd hopped on a train- another first for him- and headed right over.

After arriving and being given further details, including the scene they'd be playing and their motivation, Sylv nodded. It was all a bit darker than he liked, but let it not be said that The Great Sylvando couldn't evoke deeper feelings as well as laughter. He read over his lines while he waited; they'd been told they could improvise a bit if they thought they and their partner could do it well, but they were being judged more on the overall quality of their performance more than their improvisational skill. It seemed a simple enough scene; the challenge would be in bringing out the emotion, and making it all feel genuine. A perfect trial run for untested actors; the director was quite a clever fellow.

Finally, the names of Sylvando and his partner were called. "Here we go; showtime," he said, turning to the one beside him. "Are you ready, honey?"

Doujinshi festival-The cover is not the book

Now wasn't this an interesting thing? Sylvando was no stranger to fans, of course, and occasionally those fans were on the artistic side. He'd posed for a few paintings and sketches for particularly artistic fans who asked nicely in the past; it was always wonderful to see someone expressing their passion for something creatively, after all. But this particular method was new to him.

Which of course meant that he was all the more eager to learn more about it! While he knew enough to take the stories that claimed to be true with a rather large grain of salt, that didn't stop any of it from being entertaining. He perused the various stalls, occasionally stopping to chat with some of the authors or other interested refugees. Who knows; now that he had a bit of extra money from busking, he might just pick up a bit of reading material too.

And the costumes people came up with were just as interesting if not more so. Sylvando could definitely be found exchanging costuming tips with some of the dressed-up attendees, maybe even offering his services if they knew anyone who wanted a costume but lacked the sewing skill to make their own. All in all it was proving to be quite a fun time!
