The problem with Wufei doing what he was doing was that it was really having an effect on Duo and he had only really one choice. He needed to get away and deal with it before he embarrassed himself. So he cleared his throat and looked around, trying to find a bench or somewhere he could drop Wufei off for a few minutes...
