[ However Ayaka chose to carry out her part in this fight, Cloud would adapt. He always has; being a 1st Class SOLDIER always helps. Knowing to lead or follow instincts to ensure the best chance of survival for a squadron. Then again...when people like him are called upon? It's usually to be a one man army. Despite the accolades that typically came with this status, that's not what's driving Cloud right now as she takes the lead. Instead, he reacts, only watching as she reappears from the icy fog. The lightning and ice reaction seemingly creates a conductive response.

One that overloads the Salamander. He sees his opportunity to join the fight, Buster Sword effortlessly held at his side as he rushes in. He times himself to her short retreat back, mindful not to suddenly jump over her as the Salamander quivers and seemingly shrugs off the attack. Seeing the faint veil of ice on the ground, he assumes that must be where she's hiding. At first, Cloud considered taking the other side, but he didn't want to risk being ignored in case it hurt Ayaka. Which is why it's a very good thing that he came in when he did. The Salamander rears up, looking to smash its broad chin down over the duo. They can run...or he can pressure this thing more.

With practiced timing, Cloud's weapon and body glow a hot orange just as the creature slams itself down over them. Only to get bounced right back up, followed by an aftershock of burning damage from Cloud's counter slash. It fumbles, quivering again. But rather than push ahead to keep on slashing, Cloud holds his ground. This thing wasn't some mindless monster hellbent on hunting down civilians. It was confused and angry. If it had to be put down? So be it. He waits for Ayaka now. Rather than one person rushing in, he's already thinking of working in tangent with her own skills. Keep the beast bewildered.

As cocky as Cloud was, and as likely as it was he could take this thing on his own? Ignoring her would only make things worse. Efficiency was the name of the game as he stands by, ready to attack with another jolt of Lightning magic. ]
