Yep, his main purpose to the story until the end is to serve as a reward for Van being The Saddest Gay ever, but that's okay because they're gay, so... you know it's fine. XD Gotta love that 90s queer representation. I do love Stefen, and I had a great time playing him, but his character in the book is kind of... flat.
